As a small business ourselves, we are BIG advocates of shopping small and supporting our fellow local businesses. Why shop small? Here are just a few very important reasons…
1. You are also supporting your town and neighborhood. Businesses pay sales tax to the town which is then used to support parks, schools, roads, sidewalks, fund public works, and much much more. Spend your money at a big box store and that money isn’t benefiting your community at all.
2. Small businesses have a major economic impact. According to the Small Business Association (SBA), since 1990, big businesses eliminated 4 million jobs vs. small businesses that added 8 million jobs. The more you shop small, the more the business grows and more jobs are added.
3. We are a part of the community! We give back, we donate, we are present.
